Today, the world is shifting towards the practicality of the event, the old education system does not seem sufficient in this changed environment. The shift will redefine the role of educators and how they relate to students and employers. Education is the only key that can develop a whole generation of responsible human beings who can absorb good teachings and can impart it to many others.

With this objective, Oakbrook Business School has organized 8th Faculty Development Program theme “Paradigm Shift to Practical Education” on 18th February, 2017. The eminent personality from the education sector like Dr. Dr. VidyutKumar Joshi, Former V.C Bhavnagar University, Former Director, Centre For Social Studies, (ICSSR),Surat, Dr. Bala Bhashkaran, Director PGDM, Shanti Business School, Dr. A.C. Brahmbhatt, Prof. Emirates, Oakbrook Business School & Prof. Chandramauli Pathak, Mentor & Advisor, Incubation Centre, Oakbrook Business School were guest of honor and key note speaker of the program. Principals and Professors from various commerce, law, arts, and science colleges were present as a part of the program.

The program was started with lamp lightening by all the dignitaries.

Dr. Sourabhi Chaturvedi, Director Oakbrook Business School acknowledged and felicitate all the dignitaries with the token of love an appreciation and present welcome
speech. She also has given a small introduction of OBS and expresses her gratitude to all the eminent guests and speakers for becoming the part of the program.

Dr. Bala Bhaskaran, Director PGDM, Shanti Business School & former director of ICFAI Business School was the first key note speaker of the program. He has more than 18 years of experience in financial Services Industry with focus on Development Banking and more than 20 years of experience in Management Education teaching and
institution building. He is also a Member, Board of Governors of Oakbrook Business School, and also associated with OBS in its research and publication wing.

He has briefly explained the role of the faculty in the changing scenario and the importance of technology in today’s education world. He also has emphasized that the students should allow to learn the way they want to as now a days the students have different ways towards looking at the things. The teacher should not be specific to the syllabus oriented teaching; instead faculty must have to use different pedagogy and andragogy in their teaching for better output.

Dr. Bhaskaran has also pointed out the challenge with the faculty in today’s world is to create right attitude in to the students. He said that the world outside is a multi-dimensional world and the mail role of a teacher is to train the students in such way that they can easily adjust in the outside multi-dimensional world with the right wisdom.

The next speaker for the event is Dr. A.C. Brahmbhatt, who is currently Research Mentor at Pandit Dindayal Petroleum University. He was also Chairperson for Ph.D.(External) Programme at Institute of Management, Nirma University. He has 4 decades of academic experience — teaching MBAs, M.Phil.s , guiding Doctoral Research and offering consultancy services. He has taught more than 10000 students , guided or facilitated for research especially in the areas of Marketing– Marketing Research, Services Marketing, Consumer Behaviour etc.

Dr. Brahmbhatt has focused on Action oriented teaching. He explains the importance of empirical and abstract level teaching methodology. He also asked the faculties to be more interactive with their students and allow the students to ask more questions. Hexplained the importance of peer interaction amongst the students and faculty.

Dr. Vidyutkumar Joshi who is Former V.C., Bhavnagar University & Former Director, and Centre for Social Studies, (ICSSR), Surat was Guest of Honor of the program. He has more than 40 years of rich experience in the field of education. He has published over fifty research papers, more than 100 articles and more than 1500 news paper articles, majority with the popular column 'Samudr Manthan' in Divy Bhaskar and other
newspaper. He also has worked as Director in L.J. Institute of Management Studies, Ahmedabad, hri Chimanbhai Patel Institute of Management and Research,and also worked as Vice-Chancellor, professor, Head of Department and vice – chancellor in various colleges.

Dr. Joshi has focused on the challenges in education today, where we are lacking and what are the drawbacks of our education system. Why our country cannot able to invent any new technology or why we have to teach the education not invented by us besides having the same brain, financial power with our country. He explained this very logically that we Indian being very emotional by nature brings those emotions in to our practical life and not think logically. We are not scientific temperament people and this is the reason why we are lacking behind.

Post lunch session was taken by Mr. Chandramauli Pathak, who is entrepreneurship expert and in charge of IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre) at campus, Mr. Kabir Thakore & his team who is an eminent theatre artist and dramatics. They have taken session on creative teaching and learning through dramatics where they engaged the participants in various games and role plays and approach them to use such methodology of teaching where the students can learn through play activities.

The participants were asked to do an activity which needs a coordination of your verbal and non verbal scense, where they explained the importance of your non verbal communications i.e. your expression, eye contact, hand movement, smile etc. along with your words. Coordination of verbal and non verbal communication plays an
important role in teaching and it creates a different impression of the faculty in the mind of the student. The role play allow the participants to think out of the box where they have to think what next and have to behave accordingly by using their verbal and nonverbal expression in the coordination to the previous activity.

The program ended with a great enthusiasm amongst the participant and it was indeed very interactive and innovative Faculty Development Program.
