1. IFFCO, Kalol | 3rd August, 2014
Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited, also known as IFFCO, is the world’s largest fertilizer cooperative federation based in India which is registered as a Multistate Cooperative Society. IFFCO has 40,000 member cooperatives. IFFCO has been ranked#37 in top companies in India in 2011 by Fortune India 500 list.
Oakbrook Business School’s Induction Programme’s Day 3 commenced with the Industrial visit at IFFCO (Kalol). The students were excited and took keen interest in knowing more about the functions of the plants. They interacted with the Plant’s Coordinator and satiated their “Curiosity Bugs” by asking several questions.
2. Sintex Pvt. Ltd. | 3rd August, 2014
Sintex Industries (Earlier known as The Bharat Vijay Mills Ltd) is the world largest producer of plastic water tank. It is also Asia’s largest manufacturer of corduroy fabrics. Sintex has a strong presence in the European, American, African, and Asian markets including countries like France, Germany and USA. It is primarily in manufacturing textiles & plastic products. Its manufacturing includes a wide range of plastic products including prefabricated structures, industrial custom molding products, monolithic constructions and water storage tanks. In the textile segment, the company focuses on niche segment specializing in men’s shirting.
The students of Oakbrook Business School were taken for an industrial visit to Sintx Pvt. Ltd located at Chattral, Ahmedabad. The students were shown the whole plant with a number of workshops that manufactured plastic products such as tanks, doors, window panels and other furniture articles. The students were surprised to see that plastic could be used to produce so many household products and could be so heat resistant, water resistant as well as durable.
3. Arvind Limited, Ahmedabad | 5th August, 2014
Arvind Limited (formerly Arvind Mills) is a textile manufacturer and the flagship company of the Lalbhai Group. Its headquarters is in Naroda, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It has units at Santej (near Kalol). It manufactures cotton shirting, denim, knits and bottom-weights (Khakis) fabrics. It has also recently ventured into technical textiles when it started Advanced Materials Division in 2011. It is India’s largest denim manufacturer  apart from being world’s fourth-largest producer and exporter of denim.
The industrial visit to the Arvind Mills was organized to give a glimpse of Corporate and industrial experience to the students. The visit focused on various functions of the industry right from manufacturing unit to dyeing, yarn making and other processes of textile manufacturing. The tour coordinator also explained how the cloth is packaged and how fast is the distribution of the complete product to the retailers. The students were shown all the units of the plant including the Marketing and HR department. The students asked a number of questions to the coordinator t which they replied humbly.
4. Navneet Publications, Ahmedabad | 9th October, 2014
Navneet Education Limited is in the business of Educational and children Books Publishing, Scholastic paper stationery and non-paper stationery products. It operates in three segments – Publication, Stationery and Others. Its products are Navneet, Vikas, Gala, Boss and Navneet Nxt. It also produces various titles in the children and general books categories, which includes activity books for children, board books, story books, health related books, cookery books, mehendi and embroidery books. It has more than 5000 titles in English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and foreign languages.
The students were taken to Navneet Publications for an industrial visit, where they were given a tour of the factory and the way it functioned. The students were stunned to see huge machines and wagons used to transport materials to and fro. The students were very excited and curious, they asked several questions to the guide.
5. Brisk Surgicals Cotton Limited, Ahmedabad | 11th October, 2014
Brisk Surgicals Cotton Ltd. was started in the year 1978 by the Promoter, Mr. Ganapati B. Patil. Before starting this unit, he himself worked in one of the International pioneer surgical cotton manufacturer in Mumbai. he started Brisk Surgicals Cotton Ltd. in the year 1978 in Kalol, a city near Gandhinagar, Gujarat located in the western part of India. Since then, he never looked back and today, Brisk brand is now a well – known name in the Pharmaceutical, Surgical and Cosmetic Industry. Brisk brand is one of the well-known Brands in India that is having an experience of more than 3 decades in the Surgical Cotton Industry.
The First Year students of Oakbrook Business School visited the campus of Brisk Surgicals Cotton Limited on 11th October, 2014. It was started in the year 1978 by Mr Ganapati B Patil. He started Brisk Surgicals Cotton Limited in the year 1978 in Kalol. Since then, he never looked back and today, Brisk brand is now a well-known name in the pharmaceutical, surgical and cosmetic industry.
6. Cleanliness Drive, OBS | 18th October, 2014
Cleanliness is next to Godliness and the students of Oakbrook Business School were adamant to make a contribution the cleanliness drive raving up in the nation. On the 18th of October 2014, the students of Oakbrook Business School picked up brooms and decided to clean the neighboring village “Jamiyatpura”. The students swept away the filth from the by lanes of the village and won hearts of the fellow villagers.
7. Vishal Containers & Packaging, Chattral | 23rd February, 2015
About Vishal Containers & Packaging Ltd. : Vishal Containers and Packaging is a grand manufacturing unit which manufactures, containers and packaging of several products right from Pizza boxes, chip-packets, cartons and other packaging material. They supply their products all over India.
The students were taken on an industrial visit to Vishal Containers & Packaging, Chattral, Ahmedabad. The students were divided in the batches of two and taken to the site by Mr. Kandarp Pandya (Event Coordinator, OBS). The students were given a tour of the factory by the Marketing Manager, Mr. Sanjay. The students were shown how the boxes of the food products and other commodities were made. They were surprised to see that box containers of brands like Pizza Hut, Dominos, KFC and many others were made locally. They asked number of questions regarding the entire process of manufacturing Boxes, how they are approaching clientele etc. Mr. Sanjay happily answered their inquisitive questions. He also gave insights about the importance of brand identity, marketing and advertising of a particular product.
8. Windsor Industries Pvt. Ltd., Chattral | 27th March, 2015

The third day of the EAC started with Industrial visit to Windsor Industries in Chattral, Ahmedabad. The students were very excited to visit the industry, they were taken to show all the units of the production department right from welding to paint workshop to the manufacturing. The students enjoyed their visit and also asked several questions to the coordinators about machines.
9. Vishal Containers & Packaging, Chattral | 4th August, 2015
All students enthusiastic for their first industrial visit reported to OBS. At the scheduled time, they left the campus to visit Vishal Packaging Pvt. Ltd. Students reached the industry and there they were divided into 2 groups so that they can visit the plant properly and can be more interactive to their guide.
After the lunch break the students were asked 3 questions by the faculty and were asked to make presentation in groups as done on the first day. The students presented the operating cycle of the company, challenges then workers faced in the factory and also gave suggestions that if they were managers how they would have solved that problem. 12 groups gave their presentation and suggestion out of which 2 groups have detailed information of operating cycle and their understanding about the company.
10. Windsor Machineries Pvt. Ltd. | 29th September, 2015
Students of Semester I along with faculties of OBS visited Windsor Machinery Pvt Ltd. Windsor Machinery is global plastic processing machinery manufacturer. The whole area of the company is divided into 4 units for manufacturing Injection Moulding machineries, Pipe Extrusion machineries and Blown Films Machineries. Students observed that Windsor culture was the testimony of humble tradition. Each member of the organization was instilled with spirit of humility. Students also noticed that Windsor constantly adapts latest German Technology which enables them to achieve technological excellence. As a part of marketing, Windsor takes active participation in national and international trade exhibitions like Plastindia. Students were also briefed about the history of the Enterprise. Visit at Windsor enlightened the students of Semester I for all the areas of a business organization working.
11. 108 Emergency Management Centre | 29th September, 2015
Students of Semester III with faculties visited to 108 Emergency management centre known as GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute. Students and faculties were informed about the history of emergency services. The motto of Service is Sense-Reach-Care. There are about 550 ambulances in 33 districts of Gujarat equipped with all life saving drugs and an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). Students were also guided on the recruitment process and 45 days of rigorous training for EMT. The calling service after 48 hours of helping patient gave the idea of follow up to the students which is necessary for any business or services. The Students were also given information and idea about the concept and process of other four projects of The Emergency Service Centre namely Khilkhilat – The drop back service for women & new born, 181 Abhayam, Aarogya Sanjivani – The Mobile Health Unit for distant remote area, 100 Police number- pilot study in seven districts. Students were surprised to know actual working process of the emergency facilities for rural and urban area. Students were also explained the model of emergency service wherein they provide platform to connect people with technology and infrastructure.
12. Gujarat Vidhan Sabha, Ahmedabad | 28th March, 2016
With the novel objective of making students familiar with the way of functioning of a democratic institution, GTU (Gujarat Technological University) in coordination with the Education Department, Government of Gujarat organised visit of Gujarat Vidhansabha for GTU students and Faculty Members. The permission to visit live sessions of Gujarat Vidhansabha and to have interaction with the Minister of Education in person was also arranged by GTU. We are highly thankful to Hon’ble Dr. Akshai Aggarwal sir, Vice Chancellor of GTU, and Dr. Manish A. Rachchh, Associate Professor, GTU & Dr. Mitesh Dadhaniya, Deputy Director, GTU for providing such a rare opportunity to us. Oakbrook Business School (MBA), Adalaj was allotted with the time slot from 11:30am to 2:30pm on 28/03/2016, Monday for Gujarat Vidhansabha visit. All the students and faculty members reached there by 11:00am and gathered outside at Gate No. 1 of New Sachivalaya. After taking attendance of all the students, one copy of list of visitors was submitted to security staff at Gate. Post security check they guided us towards main building of Vidhansabha Gruh.
Here students were divided in to different groups and strict security check was done for even mobiles, vehicle key chains and wallets. Thereafter all the groups were taken to third floor where live assembly session was going on. Staff present there instructed all the students and faculties on rules & discipline to be followed inside the assembly hall during visit of live assembly session.
All the groups of students got an opportunity to sit inside the assembly hall for 5 to 7 minutes and experienced the live functioning of “Gruh”.
After hearing the live session, all gathered at central hall situated on ground floor where we got the opportunity to click a photograph with the Honourable Chief Minister, Government of Gujarat Smt. Aanandiben Patel.
It was a wonderful experience for all Students and faculty members.
