Oakbrook business School organized its 4 th Marketing conclave on the theme ‘Rural marketing: Opportunities and Challenges’ on 24 th February 2018 at its campus. The event was divided into two sections: Lecture series and Marketing Games.
The first section of lecture series had four fascinating speakers. The speakers of the conclave were Prof. B.S Dave- Marketing Consultant, Interlink Marketing; CA. Shaina Shah-Business Head, International Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development; Dr. Belur Baxi- Professor, GLS University and Mr. Ashok Swamy-Head Marketing, Adjavis Venture Ltd.
The event kicked off with an expert session of Prof. B.S Dave who has an incredible experience of around 33 years in academics and corporate. His remarkable comments on Eco mechanism, Carbon Footprints and climate change unlocked our minds in the arena of carbon reduction and Global warming. Our second speaker, CA. Shaina Shah commenced her speech with some existent cases of rural people. She shared her experience about working with rural population and understanding their culture, ethnicity and mindsets. She explained how a village person is trying to admit the change and becoming more of an urban personality. Ms. Shah, enthusiastically shared her encounter with rural people and that made the audience stick their ears to her speech.
Dr. Belur Baxi who is a professor at GLS University opened up with a presentation on Rural Marketing, a golden opportunity. He demonstrated the true facts and figures of growing prospects of rural marketing. He showed the India vision 2020 in the rural panorama. Dr. Baxi’s presentation was vastly amazing and educational. The last speaker was the head of Marketing at Adjavis Venture Ltd, Mr. Ashok Swamy. A highly energetic and lively personality, Mr. Swamy cheerfully outset the stage with some really appealing examples of Indian brands Advertising. He shared few attention- grabbing cases of popular brands like Layer’r shot, Whattagirl, Boroplus and Dermi Cool. Also he discussed real note worthy stories of Bollywood celebrities and their brand endorsement.
Nonetheless, Mr. Ashok Swamy’s session was one of the best one’s and out of the ordinary. Thus, the lecture series ended up with some great enlightening information about the rural marketing themes.
The second session was an in-house event of marketing games where the students of 1 st year and 2 nd years Oakbrook Business School competed and showed their marketing knack. Two games: Market Mayhem and Ad-Diction was played in teams. All the contenders combat and played hard to win the title. Thus, the whole event was very well organized and effectively managed. All students and speakers had good time at the campus. The platform provided a good platform for interaction between students and the eminent speakers
