Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great pompous and frolic at Oakbrook Business School, students participated heartily and had great fun in showcasing there talent among the guests, faculty and fellow students.

“Amigos Celebratio 2K14” – Oakbrook Business School’s first cultural festival and fresher’s party was held on 5th September 2014. Amigos in Spanish mean friends and Celebratio in Latin means celebration. Indeed it was sheer fun with events like singing, dancing, drama, stand-up comedy and fashion show.

The day started off with lighting up the lamp by the Dean and Radha ma’am followed by students handing over a Ganpati Idol to the Institute as a part of Teacher’s Day celebration. Students had worked hard and institute was looking beautiful with decorations all around. A grand stage was framed up with flashy lights and red carpet was laid down for the Fashion Show. A student delivered a speech to mark the celebration of Teacher’s Day. Her speech enthused everyone and the real celebration began.

Friends play a vital role in our lives. Keeping in mind the theme for the event, a beautiful song “Yaaron Dosti Badi Hi Haseen Hai” was sung by a group of students. As the time advanced, performers danced on bollywood number “Tune Maari Entriyaan” which created the playful mood around after which a powerful drama was enacted by the Baghbaan group depicting the plight of aged parents in our modern society.

In between these events we had a few stand up comedians who kept us entertained. A duet number “Main Rang Sharbaton ka” was also there and it was refreshing. Funny dance group boys had a fusion dance and it was just fun and enjoyment. Another group of students presented a skit with a social message on ill effects of alcohol on society.
The all girls group looked very pretty in their traditional dresses as they danced on “NagadaSang Dhol.” The event seemed incomplete without a Gujarati folk song and dance.  So a  group of boys from the organising team came up with “Bhai Bhai” and the crowd was  enjoying that moment.

The attraction of the whole event was “Fashion show”. The ramp was looking glamorous as the boys and girls gaited in perfectly with their beautiful attire. The theme was Indian traditional wear and the show was a huge success.

At around 2 in the noon we walked out for lunch where several mouth watering delicacies were served. Fresher’s party started off with judging of the Mr. & Miss. Fresher’s 2K14 by our faculty. It was a great bash as the DJ played in party tracks and students were enjoying their new found friendships. The theme for the Fresher’s party was Prom night and so boys and girls were enjoying the party. After the soirée we called it a day and students moved on as it was a joyous and fun filled event. Amigos Celebratio 2K14 ended up being exactly what the words mean Friends…Fun…Enjoyment.
